Credit Card Processor Suffers Data Breach

According to The Palm Beach Post, Heartland Payment Systems, a major national credit card processor, has suffered a massive data breach that may have exposed personal information from more than 100 million credit and debit card transactions in 2008.     Is there any relation of Heartland Payment Systems to providers such as SignaPay? Thanks for the update.

    Thank you for the comment. Very good question. The answer is: No, there is no connection, Heartland and SignaPay are competitors. They are two of the many competing Independent Sales Offices (ISO’s) throughout the nation. ISO’s are the vehicle used by Acquirerers to market their processing services.
